Maison Et Objet: Sebastian Herkner, The Designer Of The Year – Maison Et Objet is the international authority for home decor, interior design, architecture, lifestyle culture, and trends through its shows, events, and its digital platform. It is a 5-day event happening from 18th to the 22nd of January 2019 at Paris Nord Villepinte
With every new edition, Maison Et Objet elects a Designer of the Year. The winner of the 2019 edition is Sebastian Herkner, let’s get to know him better:
Sebastian Herkner is a 37-year-old designer from Germany. He focuses on the design of objects and furniture combining new technologies with traditional craftsmanship.
He set up his studio in Offenbach am Main in 2006 and since then he has built an astonishing career, focusing on the creation of designs that fuse tradition with creativity, new technology with long-established crafts. Over the course of the past decade, he has received some thirty awards in recognition of his innovative yet traditional work.
Sebastian Herkner trained at Offenbach University of Art and Design and is embarking on an ever-growing number of collaborations with international design houses, such as Moroso, Dedon, Thonet, and Lintello.
His latest creation is the iconic “Bell” Table, a steel and brass platter nestled on a hand-blown glass base. Pay attention because these are set to be unveiled at Maison Et Objet.
