The Interior Innovation Award was launched in 2002 at the international furniture fair IMM in Cologne, Germany. It is one of the most prestigious awards in the furnishing industry. My Design Week tells you about the ceremony happening on the 12th January, to kick-start the fair on the 13th.

“Through this competition the imm cologne and the German Design Council have succeeded in creating an effective tool for corporate positioning and product differentiation for the interior furnishing market. The Interior Innovation Award appraises top innovations in all product areas of this industry sector.” – IMM website

IMM Cologne is the first furniture show of the year, happening from 13th to 19th January. As part of the fair, there are a few parallel events, like the Interior Innovation Award. This prize stands for first-class innovative achievements in furniture industry. It offers companies an effective tool for corporate positioning and product differentiation on the interior design market.

All the pieces selected for consideration will be on display in the Interior Innovation Award Exhibition: Trend Avenue in hall 4.2.

The “area is divided into two sections: in one, the trends from bathroom, floors/walls and lighting will be presented, and in the other the winning works of the Interior Innovation Award 2014 will be shown. The special exhibition D3 Contest 2014 is shown at the Pure Village.” German Design Council

Pure Village, launched in 2010, is a democratic design platform for established and up-and-coming brands and designers featuring an innovative mix of product ranges that cover the entire spectrum of interior design.

One of selected products for the Interior Innovation Award 2014 is the KOI Dinning Table II by BRABBU.
