5. Wildflower Hall Shimla, India

This is one of the most exquisite spots in the Himalayas, the ornate indoor swimming pool. The tileword is intricate blue and has crystal chandeliers hanging overhead. The windows overlook the dense ceder forest and the snowcapped mountaintops in a conservatory and elegant way.

4. Amangiri Canyon Point, Utah, USA


This extraordinary swimming pool was built around a massive, 165-million-year-old Entrada sandstone rock escarpment. Created by Adrian Zecha in collaboration with architects Marwan Al-Sayed, Wendell Burnette and Rick Joy, this resort is tucked within a remote valley right where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona meet. It was design to blend seamlessly into the breathtaking desert surroundings.

3. Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upuleihu Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Meet the King’s Pond, a 1.8 million gallon natural pool carved out of lava and the home of more than 3,000 tropical fish. The pond ebbs and flows with the tide as subterranian channels fill it with ocean water. Located on the exclusive Kona-Kohala coast of Hawaii’s Big Island, the resort provides picturesque bungalows and white-sand beaches. Snorkeling is allowed all over the 32-acre resort.

2. Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc Cap D’Antibes, France

It was in 1914 that this fabulous saltwater pool was built. Carved out of basalt rock and at a constante temperature of 82.5º F or 28º C, the pool overviews the Lérins Islands and the Mediterranean Sea. The legendary Hotel do Cap-Eden-Roc was built in 1870 by the founder of the newspaper Le Figaro, Hippolyte de Villemessant. For more than 140 years it has been the playground for international royalty, politicians, artists, movie stars, and the literary elite.
