The International Design Exhibition High Point Market, Oct 13, is closer than ever. From 19th to 24th October, this is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world.

Serious retail home furnishings buyers can be found in High Point twice a year because if you can’t find it in High Point…it probably doesn’t exist.

More than just the products, people come for the Events.

My Design Week tells you all about the Social Events, happening at the same time as the exhibitions and talks.

On their website one can read: “Special social and entertainment events offer exceptional opportunities to build your business network, or find some down-time with colleagues.”

This events by themselves all appear to me food and alcohol related. Here are the ones I would definatly attend:

You can check the whole list of Social Events on the official website. Business socializing at the highest level, I can only presume.

Now if you are thinking High Point is just an exhibition during which serious business occurs around sushi and mimosas, you, sir/madame, are not correct.

On the other side are the Educational Events:

“Educational opportunities with leading retail experts, consumer researchers, and world-class designers showcase the most current business ideas and the latest trends in color, fashion, and style.”

The Educational Events consist of a series of orientation Seminars on Design, Advertising and Selling Techniques and Future Trends, among others. You can check the full list here.
