CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

Satomi’s inspiration comes from the careful observation of the world around her. She is drawn to things that represent the history of countries and cultures, traditional craftsmanship that carefully blends the past, the present and the future.

As she travels, Satomi absorbs experiences and ideas from people, fashion, music and cultural phenomena and assimilates them into the form and aesthetics of her work. A significant component of her designs is the Japanese concept of MA (the balance between space and objects).
