TOP 10 Museums in London
The blog Best Design Guides selected the top 10 Museums in London – the home of some of the best and most famous museums in the world.

1. Science Museum
Featuring seven floors of educational and entertaining exhibits, including the Apollo 10 command module and a flight simulator.
2. National Maritime Museum
Founded in 1675 by Charles II, the museum’s exhibits include wreckage from a Zeppelin shot down over the Thames estuary in 1916 and the original model for Nelson’s Column.
3. Design Museum
At the Design Museum by Tower Bridge you will find modern and contemporary industrial and fashion design, graphics, architecture and multimedia.
4. London Transport Museum
Featuring the first underground electric train, which had no windows because there was nothing to see underground. However, no one could tell which stop they were at.
5. Imperial War Museum
This museum showcases an important collection of twentieth-century art, much of it officially commissioned during the World Wars.
6. British Museum
Is one of the oldest museums on earth. The most visited attractions are the mummies, the Rosetta Stone, Lindow Man, the Lewis Chessmen and the Sutton Hoo Ship Burial.
7. V&A
Displays one of the world’s greatest collections of decorative arts.
8. National Gallery
Is the home of more than 2,000 masterpieces. It’s also an icon used in films, like 007.
9. Tate Modern

10. Natural History Museum
Contains an amazing collection of 70 million plant, animal, fossil, rock and mineral specimens.
